Hydroxyapatite Implantation by Papilla Preservation Technique

Abstract
In recent years, considerable attention has been given to the use of autografts, allografts and xenografts in order to improve the amount of new connective tissue attachment and bone regeneration in infrabony pockets, especially three-wall infrabony pockets.
The most common postoperative problem associated with grafting procedure is the exfoliation of the implant materials because of the incomplete tissue coverage of the graft material in proximal area.
A 57 aged female patient with deep infrabony defects was implanted with Hydroxyapatite by new flap, Papilla Preservation Technique, for placement of graft materials into infrabony pockets. Wound healing always occurred by primary intention and without clinical and radiographic evidence of immediate graft exfoliation. Interdental soft tissue craters did not develop.
The patient was satisfied with esthetics and facility of good oral hygiene.
